Common Questions

What's the difference between towing capacity and payload?

Towing capacity is what your truck can pull behind it. Payload is what it can carry in the bed and cabin — including passengers, cargo, and tongue weight from your trailer. Both matter for safe towing.

Why do you recommend 80% of max towing?

Manufacturers publish best-case numbers. Real-world towing means hills, wind, passengers, and gear. Staying at 80% gives you a safety margin and is easier on your transmission, brakes, and fuel economy.

Where does your MPG data come from?

We aggregate real-world fuel economy from owner-reported data. These aren't EPA test numbers — they're what actual owners get on actual roads. Much more useful for planning a towing trip.
